Cult childrens cartoon series from the 1980s. Plasticine animations of Brek - a blue servent to those upstairs.
Created by Charles Mills and Terry Brain, and voiced by Willie Rushton, Trap Door was originally a children’s television series, which has managed to achieve cult status by taking its audience with it into adulthood, where it is remembered fondly as a classic piece of television.
Re-live the magic and join Berk, Boni, and Drutt for some hilarious antics! Berk is the overworked servant of ‘the thing upstairs’. The day-to-day routine of faithful Berk looking after his master is constantly interrupted as things emerge from the Trap Door to make life a little more difficult! Other characters include Boni who is an amiable old skull who lives in a hole in the wall and Drutt a small, strange looking spider who is always getting himself into trouble.
Fans of this classic TV series, with its quirky sense of humour and off-the-wall storylines will be singing along to the memorable theme tune:
“Don’t you open that Trap Door,
You’re a fool if you dare,
Stay away from that Trap Door
Cos’ there’s somethin’ down there!”
Winner of the ‘Best Model Animation’ at the British Animation Awards in 1988, Trap Door achieved cult status after being aired throughout the 80’s, and maintains a strong fan base with the hilarious and bizarre sense of humour appealing to adult enthusiasts and students alike.
With all 40 episodes available for the first time ever, Trap Door fans will have access to all their favourite Trap Door moments! In “Creepy Crawley”, something large and black with “lots of legs” comes out of the Trap Door and scuttles off down the corridor, but Berk won’t believe Boni. He soon finds that Boni was right after all but luckily Drutt comes to the rescue and the “Creepy Crawley” is soon pushed down the Trap Door.
