Swashbuckling historical drama with that hunky Sean Bean as the British officer fighting during the Napoleonic War. Sharpe's resolve is severely tested with the return of an evil villain from his past. In addition, he loses his hard-earned captaincy, his company lose their Green Jackets, and they are brutalised under the command of Sergeant Hakeswill. The soldiers are then ordered to attack Badajos, where Sharpe's child has taken refuge.

Sharpe's Eagle. (Series 1, episode 2)
Adventure set in a time when men were men and women were glad of it! Handsome Lt Sharpe joins forces with the South Essex regiment and is ordered to destroy a key bridge but, owing to incompetence in high places, the regimental colours are lost. However, a dying officer requests that Sharpe try to capture a French Eagle in an act of retaliation, and Sharpe and his men soon find themselves playing a key role in the Battle of Talavera.
