Although entertaining this mini series seems to be based on more fiction than fact.
The worrying aspect is that nowadays many people get their whole history from this type of media

Empire [2005]
Actually I enjoyed EMPIRE more than "Rome". The cast put on a wonderfully engaging performance and the gladiator fights were immense in there energy and realism. A thoroughly rewarding viewing experience.

Rome - Utterly convincing, a superb portrayal!

I love these sort of series and I am a huge fan of ROME. This is a great retelling and one which has more than a few surprises. There was obviously a large budget to play with. I recommend this title to anyone who has bought ROME from HBO.
