It's been a fun DVD ride with The Dukes!
Review date: 2008-05-15 Rating: 8 out of 10
The final season of The Dukes of Hazzard has many good episodes of the adventures of those beloved Hazzard folk such as "Happy Birthday, General Lee", "Enos and Daisy's Wedding", "Sky Bandits over Hazzard", etc. but has a couple of awful ones as well such as when an alien vists Hazzard!
This season is fun to watch just for the hilarious antics of Boss Hogg and Rosco! Both actors who portray greedy scheming Boss Hogg and lovable dimwit Rosco P. Coltrane are an excellent comedy double-act who play very well off each other and their charisma and good chemistry shines through.
This final season includes the episode "Welcome, Waylon Jennings" when we get to see the series narrator and balladeer Waylon Jennings who comes to Hazzard with his mobile museum of country-music memorabilia which Boss Hogg plans to hijack for ransom from the insurance company! Cale Yarborough also comes to Hazzard in one episode but winds up framed for a bank heist along with the Dukes. In the final episode of the entire series "Opening Night at the Boar's Nest", Boss Hogg disappears along with $3 million and an armoured truck and it's up to the Dukes to save Boss from two criminals who are out to kill him (the episode is written by John Schneider aka Bo Duke).
The episodes are on 6 single-sided discs with cast pictures on the DVDs. Spoken languages and subtitles are in English, German, French and Italian.
It's certainly been fun collecting all The Dukes DVD box sets and will be adding this one to my collection. Dukes' fans can take pleasure in watching the wonderful episodes of all the seven seasons of this great and timeless show on DVD for years to come.
