Synopsis
The Inbetweeners offers a comedic take on growing up in middle class suburbia. A place where there are no teen pregnancies, no drugs, no knife fights and no guns. It’s about a bunch of lads who get into real scrapes rather than real trouble.

Will’s (Simon Bird) parents have just divorced and he has unwillingly had to move area and change schools. He was previously at a private school, so has inherited some snobbish tendencies. He’s now at a comprehensive school where he has had to make a new set of friends. His newly found peers, Simon (Joe Thomas),Jay (James Buckley) and Neil (Blake Harrison) are neither that cool and or that credible.

Extras
– Audio commentaries by the writers/cast/ producer
– Video diaries from all four cast members
– The making of documentary
– Meet the cast (what the boys are really like)
– Deleted scenes

Hilarious!!

I watched some of the episodes the first time round but kept on forgetting it was on each week. Have recently found it being repeated by accident a couple of weeks ago after watching Desperate Housewives. Both my son (17) and I (46) were in stitches and crying with laughter. can't wait to watch the episode with the car - as it reminded me of my son starting his driving lessons!! and am soooo looking forward to watching the episodes I haven't yet seen

this is one of the funniest thing son channel 4. watched 2 episodes on e4 and thought it was well worth looking for when it came out on dvd. i laughed from start to finish. as i'm only 20 it was a reminder of school and college life for me. its about a group of lads that are neither the cool kids or the uncool kids. quality tv

I hate to love this....

...as it's utterly filthy and vile (just like teenage boys) but I just can't help myself. What really makes The Inbetweeners stand out is the perfect timing of the actors and the little subtleties in their performances given that the script is anything but. Brilliant!

Simon Bird is William, a young lad from a well-to-do background. When his father leaves, he has to go to a public school, to his horror, and gets all sorts of hassle for having a briefcase, the usual things kids pick on. Soon Wills finds other mates, like Simon, Jay and Neil, all with their own quirks, like Neil's auto defence system when someone says his father is gay, Jay's obsession with the female species, and Simon and his yellow car.

The show looks at their daily lives, from kids at school to guys out on the pull. Some really funny moments like the episode where they go to a caravan park, Simon being sick all over the place and William's run in with Mr Gilbert.

The extras are rather poor in my opinion, 2 deleted scenes, 2 out takes, a couple of video blogs and a meet the cast. It really didn't interest me much, and the deleted scenes really didn't add much more to the story.

This is a good show, bit of harmless fun for young people, but I don't really get the 18 certificate given. It's really for the age group of 15-17, I can't really see why anyone over 30 would really enjoy this, but that's only my view on it.

Worth a rent, wouldn't really buy it, it's not really got that pick it up again and again factor.

Made me laugh out loud

I found this programme on E4 by accident a few weeks ago, and, honestly, it's one of the best/funniest things I've ever seen. Made me laugh out loud and I can't remember the last time that happened. (I'm a miserable ***). All the characters and general plots have been well described by others so I won't repeat their comments apart from agreeing wholeheartedly with them - apart from one (Right, Graeme?) So glad it's on DVD and there MUST be another series. I wish I could buy the entire cast/crew/writers and everyone else a drink.
