Trash ... worst film ive seen this year.
Review date: 2008-11-24 Rating: 2 out of 10

Yes I get it!! Its meant to resemble a 1970's B-movie in both style and production ...... but in the end of the day you have to enjoy the film. Now despite the fact that I liked the 70's feel to the movie, it was still a terrible film. Its good to see Kurt Russel playing a character that you wouldnt usually see him play, but despite his great performance, he cannot carry this movie. The story just didnt do it for me.

In Tarentino films, the dialogue seems to be the most significant factor and is usually the most enjoyable aspects of his films. However, once again the dialogue cannot carry this movie. This film is obviously playing tribute to 70's B-Movies ... but that is exactly what you get: a sub-standard B-movie and possibly the worst film Ive seen this year. If you want to honour that genre of film, then make it a parody of the genre and make it funny.

Nowhere near as good as it should be

This is Tarantino's weakest film.

A lot of this is taken up with pointless, meandering dialogue - way below his usual standard.

Some of the action is incredibly well filmed, but overall this disappoints.

This film was top popcorn entertainment, really enjoyed the dialogue. A great suprise as wasn't expecting much.

Far from perfect, but has many moments of brilliance

"Death Proof" is a fascinating mix of the terrible and the brilliant. Not much cop as a slasher flick, but as its own thing it was good overall. Some of the endless dialogue was boring, while over times I lost track of time and didn't mind the talking. Terrible sudden ending though - the film is missing an important scene when the girls return the beat up car to its owner, and we get his reaction.

"Planet Terror" (5 stars) is a brilliant zombie movie; one part serious, two parts spoof. It's stupid in all the right ways. I was put off by the silly machine gun leg poster. Turns out she only gets the leg enhancement in the last ten minutes, and by that point it feels right at home with all the other action. A masterpiece of its genre. I loved it. Much better than the similarly jokey "Evil Dead II" in my opinion.

Both are worth seeing. I think they made a mistake with the original "Grindhouse" film order. Following the visceral, kinetic eye-candy of "Planet Terror" with the plodding, talk-heavy "Death Proof" makes no sense.

This is the most BORING and disappointing film I've seen in quite a while. In fact Death Proof redefines the word BORING. There is no real story here, just a plot and it is BORING and BAD.
