After the very bad 6th part of the Hellraiser series comes the even worse part VII titled "Deader". How suitable, since the makers really KILLED Hellraiser - but that happened early on. Clive Barker never should have sold the rights to America, letting them throw several of bad and worse sequels on the market and wasting Bradley's talent as an actor for crap like this.
To say the story is bad is an understatement. In fact, I thought the idea of introducing the group of "Deaders" was totally ridiculous, probably just made to bring in a bunch of teens to make this film more open to a younger audience.
The effects are bad - and cheap may I add. It is very clear that this film was made on a very restricted budget - obviously not intended to be any good.
Pinhead gets a bit more screentime than in part 6 - but not even he can redeem the this bad sequel. And that is saying a lot!
"Deader" plays mostly in Bucharest, Romania - probably because it's cheaper to film there than in the States. Strangely almost everybody there seems to be speaking flawless English.
STICK TO THE EXCELLENT FIRST 2 FILMS, if you must get parts 3 and 4, but stop there! Otherwise you're most likely to be highly disappointed. As Ebert would say: TWO THUMBS DOWN!

Better Than She Expected

I bought this film for my 19 year old granddaughter and she loved it. She said it had a creepy feel to it and was pretty scary. A lot of people told her it was a bad film but she liked it. If you're into this sort of film it's a recommended watch.
