OK, I like most hooror films that feature Zombies, even the RE are slick `popcorn and 6 pack' movies, which can be enjoyed.
I thought ther would be no harm at all giving this movie (although I use that term in it absolute generic term) a rent, after all, it's a remake of a classic mid 80's Romero flick, and I thouroughly enjoyed the Dawn of the Dead update (2004), and Steve Minor is at the helm, what could go wrong to stifle my enjoyment for 90 minutes or so?
Well, everything - this film has nothing whatsoever in common with the `classic' original (inverted commas because I always thought the third in the Dead trilogy was the weakest, and Romero never had the budget he needed to make it on a par with Dawn of the Dead)
The zombies in this movie can climb walls, have no ability to even mimic what we know and love about all things zombie and, it's a complete mess. I cannot tell you the plot because a) as far as I could tell, there isn't one, and b) I simply turned it off half way through, it was THAT BAD - and that's coming from someone who laps up this genre!

Avoid, it is not a zombie film, and it has nothing to do with the original 1985 movie. It is rubbish.

Not quite sure what film the other reviewer watched but it couldn't have been the same one i did.
1, this has nothing to do with the original Romero Dead films, so don't be fooled by that, it only shares its name.
2, It's very TV movie, medium budget, overall acting is fair.. but not great, (again tv standard).
3, low budget CGI (too much of it) average SFX.
4, Infected people 'instantly' turn into zombies...they go from normal health with a nose bleed.. then 'BAM!' white eyes and decayed faces..
5, Poor and very unconvincing plot.
6, Ving Rhames i thought.. wow! must be good. He was brilliant in dawn remake, but no.. he has a very small part and looks so bored and wooden he hardly acts at all, he must have known what a stinker the movie would be.
7, My recomendation is read all the other amazon reviews on another section of the site, dont take my word for it.I felt i had to post this review because the only other one on this version someone gave it 5 stars lol

If you are looking for a tv movie horror to entertain you for a night in, its ok. But dont expect this to perform like a proper romero film or a good high budget remake like the 2003 Dawn.

Slightly based on the original, day of the dead returns with new life in it. A small town falls victim to a vicious virus that causes the bloodbath presented in this movie.
ving rhames, mena suvari and nick cannon among others all fall in place for this bloodfest which actually work very well.
these zombies are fast as hell and jump on walls think ''zombies on speed'' and you can get the picture.
this peacefull towns sweats blood as these things take over causing havoc and of course death death and more bloody death.
the film is a definite must have regardless as to seeing the original or not. a perfect film for a nice cold night in with your mates or on your own you will enjoy this movie.
Ving rhames mena suvari give good performances as well as nick cannon handing in a good performances aswell as a few phrases that will stick in your skull.
the film is fast furious and bloody filled with gore gore and more gore and its definetly worth it fun for all even the dead and fully entertaining.
get it watch it love it.
