Here we have two Steve Reeves movies presented in widescreen.
The first is "Giant of Marathon",this has been available for some time in
4:3 pan and scan,and always as a rather dreadful washed out print.This new version,however is not only in 2.35:1,but also boasts the best print I have ever seen of it.Okay there are still some signs of print damage,but overall the colours are rich and vibrant,and the clarity is very good.This makes it a joy to watch,indeed it is like watching a totally different film to the old pan and scan version.
The second film is "The Avenger",here called "War of the Trojans".
I must admit this was a film I never used to think much of due in part to the poor quality that was previously available.
Once again though,the version shown here is easily the best available.
The colours strong and vivid throughout,and for once in widescreen.
Out of the two movies,this one shows the most print damage,but still pretty good considering the age of the material.
This dvd has basically the same content as the dvd entitled "War of the Gods",but whereas that has badly presented pan and scan washed out versions,this is great.
Overall highly recommended if you like old Sword and sandal movies or you are a fan of the late Steve Reeves.
