A "decent" action movie
Review date: 2008-11-22 Rating: 6 out of 10
A mix of old themes, from The Running man to No escape (convicted-gladiators, the island-prison, the tv show) with some "social" element (the critic to the "real" junk-tv of reality shows). A "mild" cast, with a ex-wrestler (bah ...) and a ex-soccer (perfect for this role). A plot a little confused and a pathetic ending. With a "star" in the cast (Statham ? The Rock ?) and a better director, they can make a 5 stars film (5 stars for this type of movie, obviously)

no no Review date: 2008-09-08 Rating: 2 out of 10Being a WWE fan, they produced this film, being a stonecold fan,he used to be in the WWE,and being a fan of mindless violence,i was certain that this film would tick all the boxes and leave me gratified, sadly it didnt come close.
I found the film to be dull and bland and extremely generic,it lifts most of its ideas from other films and too many people die in explosions which weakens the overall impact of the deaths. The films in question that this lifts heavily from include battle royale and the running man,two great films granted but this doesnt handle itself well, director scott wiper does a good job keeping things ticking along nicely but the one liners arent that strong and most of the characters arent worth a sixpence, stonecold does his best but doesnt stretch the boundries of acting in any way but he is certainly one of the films most redeeming features which is just as well or otherwise this would have to be called a major letdown, nowhere near as good as i believed it would be.1.5 stars.a good no brainer film Review date: 2008-08-21 Rating: 8 out of 10i was expecting the worse with this film (e.g some reviews and wwe film) but i was pleasantly suprised ......
if you want a good .... blokes .... chillout film this is a good bet.
couple of twists and turns (but i wont spoil the plot),
but all in all sit back with a 6 pack (or your preferred tipple) and enjoy, but please dont expect the missus to stick around for the whole film (is that a blessing ? ... i will leave that up to you):
50% running man
30% escape from la/ny
10% predator
10% tv's survivor (variations)
vinny = typical vinny psycho character ... good performance
steve austin = ok - a lot better than many wwe/wwf film wannabes
othe cast = quite good
all in all - for the money .... good value
you can watch this film more than once (given your mood) .... and enjoy
GREAT ACTION!!!Review date: 2008-08-08 Rating: 10 out of 10The Condemned is one of those films that we dont seem to see much of anymore, good oldskool CGI free action.
Stone Cold is great in his portrayal of Conrad, saying little but showing some good emotion.
Jones is ace at being bad and shows it again here.
All in All if u like Raw action, big bangs and a fairly unique concept then try the Condemned and it wont dissapoint.
A warning thouugh, despite being under the WWE films banner, this is extremely brutal and violent, much more than the Marine, more resembling the new Rambo.
Great action flick full of all the stuff you'd expectReview date: 2008-05-28 Rating: 8 out of 10There never seems to be enough no-holes-barred action flicks. With the classic legends of Arnie and Stallone geting old, it seems like action movies of today's genre focus too heavily on CGI effects. Not this one.
I'd say this is a cross between Prison Break, Lost and Big Brother. The basic plot is - stick 10 death row inmates on an island, give them 30 hours to kill each other, and the last one standing is set free. The island is rigged up with remote cameras filming the challenge and is streamed live to millions of people around the world.
This is an adrenaline fuelled movie with fights after fights, action and some great (wait for it) "fight" choreography scenes. The plot is simple and straight forward, but does have some moral fibre to it especially around the focus of violence and the availability of it to the world.
Great action flick that's full of spectacular fight scenes, explosions and chases.
