This DVD is a must for British comedy and Danny fans. Good light viewing with well known supporting actors. Pity he did'nt do a sequel.

Made in 1972 it has taken 36 years to see it come to DVD. Not much of a story. Danny La Rue, in drag, is mistaken for a woman in wartime France and seeks to escape to England with a party from a finishing school and a RAF Officer.
The cast is recognisable as it comprises many famous faces, the honours however, must go to Danny, who is a very great talent in drag whether you like it or not. He has numerous costume changes and can be remarkably convincing as a woman. He has amazingly good legs for a man trying to pass as female, His gestures are so convincing and he walks superbly.
Danny is a master of his craft and one of the best in the business.
Worth watching as it is unique.

i have been waiting for this film to be released and the wait was worth it, the story is about a soldier who while on stage playing a female role the german army overrun the camp and he gets captured and the best british comic humer plays on from there as our man fred has to get back to our own lines (enfemme).
