Brilliantly OTT.
Review date: 2008-04-28 Rating: 8 out of 10

This film does have a plot, but to be honest it is hardly important to this sort movie. The action is frantic and completely silly that puns are hilariously bad. It really is one of those films that once you have seen the opening you will know if you will like it. It isn't for everyone, it is the definition of high octane dumb action movie. Clearly made as a blokes movie, although my Missus loved it as well, it ain't no date movie.
Is it a worthwhile Blu ray purchase? If you like the film sure if not then you would be dumb to buy it anyway, and if you aren't sure, rent it.

Why a dull movie in the High Definition format?
Review date: 2008-04-25 Rating: 4 out of 10

There is plenty of movies with beautiful imagery, and I'm wondering why they decided to release this movie in the High Definition format.
I bought this DVD, i regret i did.
The photography is dull and the movie is dark but not in an artistic way as "Sin City". What's the use of the High Definition?
It is trivial and there in no sense of sin and tenderness as in the touching noir movies. The DTS sound is dull, the dynamic possibilities of the DTS are wasted.
The scene when they jump from the plane is amateurish and you think of the same dramatic and wonderful scene in the movie of Katherine Bigelow, many years ago. Paul Giamatti is good, but you ask yourself why Owen should have made such a poor choice. The scenery is vulgar. Michael Davies? Who he is? Is he a genius? I'm Italian and i don't like particularly Monica as an actress, though she is a beautiful and sensitive woman, but in this movie i think she is the only touching character.
Should I notice also that the problem is in many other releases of Blu-Ray discs? Do the majors think that only violent maniacs would buy Blu-Ray discs? There are too many releases of violent movies in this format. The choice from the backers of the HD DVD format were more considerate and the movies in the HD DVD were more beautiful. I would urge Toshiba and the the majors to reconsider their decision to abandon HD DVD format though i have two Blu-Ray DVD players and i don't have a HD DVD player.

Guns Guns and more Guns
Review date: 2008-03-03 Rating: 10 out of 10

This film has a very good story line similar to the Inside Man aswell as lots of action which any Die Hard fan would appreciate.

Clive Owen is perfect in the film and portrays his character extremely well.

I don't think I have seen a film with more killings done by one guy.
