Great music... not definitive edition
Review date: 2008-09-05 Rating: 8 out of 10
This is a great combination from two concerts at their best years. The only objetion is the video format in the Hammersmith footage, it was originally 4:3 (it was broadcasted by some TV channels). In Spain, it could be watched in the last years at TVE50 -dvb quality- with a wrong date (original broadcast: 1977). Now it appears like 16:9, but it can be watched that the conversion is very disappointing: The screen is mutilated with black bands up and down the screen (to hide some TV logo?). Where are the original tapes? Only 4 stars is due to this mistake.

MagicalReview date: 2008-04-22 Rating: 10 out of 10This is camel at their most emotive and creative. All the tracks, including the bonus material are classics and this is a superb collection that highlights the interesting changes in the early years. The themes are richly musical and full of energy. Camel is a very unusual band and this collection really demonstrates this. They have a unique and original quality that spans a wide range of styles. The music has a lyrical, subliminal quality and is full of deep emotion. It touches your heart if you let it in - there seems to be a kind of barrier when you first hear it but when this breaks down with repeated listening it is like looking at a rich and beautiful landscape - a thoroughly rewarding, almost magical experience! Overall this is an astounding DVD, great value for money with excellent performance throughout, Camel stand up live unlike some other bands who only 'work,' in the studio.
The audio and visual quality is very good, much better than you'd expect.
The bottom line : Buy it, you'll love it.SuperbReview date: 2008-01-04 Rating: 10 out of 10Wonderful footage of two classic Camel line-ups. The Moonmadness concert (plus two new songs found in the bonus section) from the original Andy Latimer, Pete Bardens, Andy Ward and Doug Ferguson line up. The Rain Dances concert features the Camel line up of Andy Ward, Pete Bardens, Andy Latimer, and new boys Richard Sinclair and Mel Collins. Brilliant release again from the Camel Productions stable.
