Predictable plot, but great actors!

I bought this dvd because I like Timothy Dalton. Well, the plot is very predictable. He has been in love with the girl for years.THey meet after a long time and realize they are still in love with each other. He is invited by her in Paris but she cancels the appointment at the last moment. While he is waiting for the train, he meets a girl he had met a few years before and decides to go to Paris with her. They have a short but intense love story. He goes back home. The woman of his dreams appears again and they finally get together. However, when he arrives in her home, he discovers that the governess of her daughter is precisely the girl with whom he had a short affair. Plus, the girl is engaged to the step-son of his fianceè. hings get complicated. Lies, discoveries, quarrels, doubts. In the end he and the woman of his dreams get married.
The movie is ok, even though the story is very simple, used and abused in other movies. Timothy Dalton is dashing as usual, but he appears a bit uncomfortable in this very limited and, frankly, boring role.
I do not regret I bought it, but it is not a masterwork.
