Plug Me In Again
Review date: 2008-01-01 Rating: 10 out of 10

The quality of this is variable - but lets face it some of these are period pieces for people to see what they were like when they were truely awesome when Bon Scott was at the helm - who would have known they were going to become as big as they have.
I was lucky and saw them and this brought back a lot of memories.
The only complaint is that some of it is incomplete e.g. just a couple of songs from a program when it actually went on for 30 or 45 minutes. Beggars can't be choosers and I still loved it.

plug me out!!
Review date: 2007-12-01 Rating: 6 out of 10

When AC/DC released the family jewels DVD i thought about time the worlds greatest heavy rock band released a compilation of videos and rare footage..so i was suprised to hear of the up coming release of plug me in!(no suprise that christmas is just around the corner!!) anyway as a true fan i pre ordered my copy!! What a let down!! some of the footage is just embarrassing! black and white 'fuzzy' film taken by either roadies or fans with primative cameras.. there are of course great bits in here especially the jamming session with the stones..the re-production tickets and back stage passes are a bit tacky! but the highway to hell poster is worth frameing! AC/DC have a huge loyal fan base..many of whom have probably never had the privilage to see them live so why do the band continue to milk them dry with re mastered CD's vinal box sets and endless DVD's when what they should be doing is getting off their backsides and doing what they do best! seems to me that they have turned into the very corporate monster they sang about in 'rock n roll aint noise pollution'

Just Amazing!
Review date: 2007-10-29 Rating: 10 out of 10

People who don't like AC/DC have something seriously wrong with them, this DVD just proves why they are the worlds greatest Rock and Roll band (Rolling who??). 'Family Jewels' was excellent but this is better, because it's live.

The first disc focuses on the Bon Scott era from some very odd performances on Australia TV, AC/DC playing sweaty clubs to screaming girls and the most glorious of all, the band rocking out to a seemingly disinterested audience on British television there to see Alex Harvey and obviously appalled by these oiks. But that only adds to the bands energy and Angus trots around the audience leering at unfortunate females....Oh God its brilliant! So all of disc 1 is flawless (well it's the Bon era!) and needless to say its full of excellent songs.

Disc 2 focuses on the Brian Johnson era and kicks off with some phenomenally high energy Tokyo footage leaving no doubt in my mind that Brian Johnson is the only man who could have replaced Bon. Man, does the whole band smoke on the Tokyo gig. Also of note is that we get the inclusion of one of my favourite but criminally overlooked DC songs, 'Flick of the Switch' from 1983. The band do overlook their mid 80's slump, however not being a fan of 'Fly on the Wall' I don't mind! Further head aching brilliant is the recent footage having not seen any of this previously I was instantly impressed that Brian Johnson has not lost any of his voice, Phil Rudd hits as hard as ever and the whole band is still on top form.

The performances of the whole band are devastating, sure AC/DC couldn't play in 16/67898 time but they are simply astounding. Not a single note out of place, DC are the masters of live Rock n Roll! 10/10

If you want blood..on dvd, you got it
Review date: 2007-10-29 Rating: 10 out of 10

There are longer reviews to read. This will be brief. My first AC/DC album at age 11 was "If you want blood...you got it". My favourite and burned into my memory. Turns out that the show was filmed! On disc 1 and bonus disc 3 are 4 songs from the Glasgow show in 1978 were the live tracks from said album were
recorded - one of the tracks (dog eat dog)never put on the album. It's a joy to see all those memorised notes in my head played out on my TV screen. Just buy this set for this footage, the rest is just bonus!
