Is this what passes for comedy now?
Review date: 2008-11-25 Rating: 4 out of 10
I watched sketch shows such as Little Britain, Harry and Paul, The Catherine Tate Show and Smack the Pony and thought they were all hilarious. I was hoping the same would be true with show. I should have been warned off by the title, which is unsubtle to say the least. This second series starts off promisingly, and there are some funny moments. But after a few episodes it's all completely run out of steam. The half-naked middle-aged women and the woman with enlarged breasts are very visual humour, and after you've seen them once there's just nothing else to laugh at. I sat through endless Salty Tales, Tom Cruise and Rasta Fans sketches waiting for someone to do or say something funny, or at the very least justify the point of these sketches. The sketches involving the two horse-riders watching working-class men, the "I'm shy" maid and the woman who wants to get on the TV are churned out long after the joke has been flogged to death. And as for the "fat woman has done a big poo" sketch - that isn't humour, it's just purile vulgarity for the sake of it.
I'm giving this DVD two stars, as some of the characters - such as the "duck and chips" family and the urine-obsessed man - are a laugh. Also, the two leads (especially Lucy Montgomery) have a real talent for playing a wide variety of characters. They just need some half-decent writers.

Laugh-Out-Loud FunnyReview date: 2007-09-29 Rating: 10 out of 10When I watched the first series of this show on television, I enjoyed it, but I'll admit - it needed work. When I watched the second series, I was very pleased to see that some of the needed work appeared to have been carried out. Lead actresses Lucy Montgomery and Debbie Chazen deliver perfectly in this second series, working very well with a quality script from writers Bob Mortimer and Jill Parker, which can be slightly repetitive, but throws in gems even towards the end.
There is a combination of humour to suit all tastes, from the innocently lighthearted, to the type that makes one think: did that just happen? The prosthetic work is first class, and the editing of the show is impressive. All in all, the second series succeeds in being witty, naughty, fun and even (at times) sad, whilst making me, a now devoted viewer, laugh out loud (obviously not at the sad parts) at what is a very nicely produced comedy.
