This hit British comedy series began as a short sketch on French & Saunders with Jennifer Saunders (Happy Families, Girls On Top) in her familiar role as Eddy and Dawn French playing her daughter. A pilot for the series was filmed with the comediennes in those respective roles but studio execs didn't believe that French could pull off playing a teenage girl so the part was recast and up-and-coming star Julia Sawalha (Press Gang, Second Thoughts) won the role of Saffy. Add a dash of actress Joanna Lumley (Cluedo, Sapphire and Steel, The New Avengers) and the immensly popular and entertaining series was born. It remains one of the BBC's highest rated shows.

Yea how come usa australia and canada can get the whole dvd box set including the christmas specials when the uk (which is the country of origin of the show) cant get the box set "Absolutely Fabulous - Absolutely Everything"!!!!
I give the show 5 stars and I think the whole 9disc dvd box set should be out in the UK asap

This does not contain "White Box", the 2004 christmas special.
For whatever reason, the BBC has again decided that the UK does not deserve to get all the videos.
While we are forbidden to have this video, America, Canada and Australia already have it. However, we can not get these as the BBC shops in those countries will not ship to us.
