Joe Brown is a British pop legend. He's still packing them in as he tours
pretty constantly.This set was recorded in June this year in Germany and
is a well recorded concert.Song choice is by and large pretty good,but
his version of Chris Smithers 'Killing The Blues'is a bit flat for me.That
apart tracks like Well,Well,Well,Gallows Pole and She Moves Through The
Fair work really well in what is mainly a roots acoustic setting.
The addition of daughter Sam Brown is a real bonus,she has such a great
voice and her two songs Mojo Hannah(with a piano added this would be even
better) and Hound Dog(yes it is the old Mama Thornton track,recorded also
by Elvis),really are worth the price of the album alone.Joe's in good
voice throughout and is an album all JB fans will love and could easily
gain him some new ones as well. All in all a really enjoyable album thats
great listening stuck in traffic,believe me it lifted the hold up I was in
and made it much more tolerable...buy with absolute confidence.
