I'm not going to say much here, as figure skating is not my thing. However, my mum really likes them, and so I bought her this set for her birthday. She absolutely loves it, and it even forced her to get over her phobia of technology and start using her DVD player! lol That has to be worth 5 stars in its own right!

Well the title says it all really, Ive thoroughly enjoyed watching all of the content of this set. There is some overlap between the performances on 'Story So Far' and 'Golden Moments', but they're different enough to easily warrant having both. I was surprised a set like this didnt include either Fire & Ice or the Russian All Stars tour, but then I suppose theyre still available separately anyway. Also, the 'Venus' performance from their first tour isnt included, and I wouldve liked it to be, but otherwise its a pretty comprehensive set. You get all their competitive free dances,including some very early stuff, osp's from 82/84/94 (no rock-n'roll from '83 unfortunately.) Its the olympic Bolero not worlds, but strangely the very last shot (where they collapse onto the ice) is from a different performance entirely, because you can see its a different arena ! And then theres lots of professional stuff - hat trick, tango, take 5, missing, encounters, song of india, stormy weather, fred & ginger, tango diabolique & their performance with yo-yo-ma. Possibly more that I cant remember offhand! And thats not includeing Ice Adventures & Face The Music.... If youre a fan this is a set well worth getting, it'll give you hours of pleasure.

How can Amazon expect punters to buy this set until they know exactly what's on it? I have just received an email promoting it but clearly Amazon aren't aware we are skaters here and "know our subject". Surely they realise many of us, particularly skaters like my family, already have DVDs and videos of T&D? Before I consider buying this I want to know EXACTLY in detail what's on the 4 DVDs.
For example, I fairly recently bought a DVD which I understood from the description would include T&D's Olympic winning Bolero performance. Instead, I found to my extreme annoyance that although other amateur performances in championships were on the disk, the Bolero performance was a later professional performance which whilst delightful of course, totally lacked the tension of the original and wasn't what I wanted at all - I am far less interested in pro performances. So although the description was accurate in that the Bolero was on the disk, nothing warned me that it wasn't the Olympic performance. Why wasn't it stated in the description that the Olympic performance wasn't included but instead a different performance? I felt cheated and wished I hadn't bought the disk. I would have preferred to wait for what I wanted.
All too often on websites selling DVDs, the information given is inadequate. Is it in Amazon's interests if purchasers are annoyed with disks they find don't contain what they expect? I realise Amazon can't always preguess what punters may want but if you give all the relevant information, we can make informed choices and are less likely to be angry after purchase.
I can't rate this disk set properly until I've seen it, but I won't be buying it unless I remember to check it sometime later and see if adequate information is given. I need an exact list of each feature. On the information given so far, how can I give it more than 3 stars for the fact our superlative skaters are on the disks? In fact, how can I rate it when I haven't yet seen the set? I'm not rating it on their quality of performance which for me anyway is unquestioned, but on the poor information given to would-be purchasers. It would help if Amazon allowed a "not yet seen" rating.
In passing, when are we going to have a DVD of the great John Curry's performances?
