Wrong Episodes on Wron Discs
Review date: 2008-11-20 Rating: 4 out of 10
I bought this set for a Xmas present and before wrapping it up decided to try the discs out. Disc 1 has the episodes from discs 2 on it. Disc 2 has the episodes from disc 1 on it. Disc 3 has the episodes on it all in the wrong order.
I am going to send it back and ask for a replacement in the hope that the new one is not faulted as well.

They say every face tells a story, here is some hilarious onesReview date: 2008-11-04 Rating: 10 out of 10Correct me if I am wrong but every time a new episode or repeat of this use to be on ITV, as I remember, it was a Bank Holiday, usually sometime at Christmas. Whenever it was on, I know for certain that I always use to look foward to it, I remember a few people thinking it was childish, but for anybody to look down at this in my opinion, is just complete snobbery. This was a masterful performance by Rowan Atkinson, in fact, I am absolutely convinced that in about a hundred years time, people will be praising this in a similar way that the wonderful and timeless LAUREL AND HARDY gets praised now. The way in which Mr. Bean can let the viewer know exactly what he is thinking in whatever situation and at the same time be laugh out loud funny takes something of a special talent.
I am not even sure if this is classed as a sitcom or not, whatever kind of TV comedy it is classed as, in my opinion it deserves to up alongside the TV comedy greats, it is such a shame that there weren't more episodes made of this, a character like Mr. Bean would be hilarious in any situation and this is why I think it is a tragedy that there weren't more episodes made because when I think of all the possible situations and locations, the possibilities are just endless. TV COMEDY GOLD. BeantasticReview date: 2007-11-14 Rating: 10 out of 10I had been looking forward to this release for a long time, and it was certainly worth the wait.
The boxset contains the original Mr Bean Vol 1-5 DVDs, showing Rowan Atkinson at his best and includes all of the original classic episodes. I've watched them over and over again and still laugh so much that it hurts.
In addition to the original episodes you get the library scene, the extra Turkey scene in the Christmas episode, the 2007 comic relief sketch and several episodes from the animated series.
The only disapointment is that it doesn't feature the other classic comic relief sketches such as the blind date one and the ice skating sketch. Nor does it include the Mr Bean documentary or the Best Bits episode.
In addition to this boxset, to complete your collection, you may consider buying the 'new' Mr Beal Vol 4 DVD (2008) as this includes the 'Best Bits' episode, and the story of Mr Bean, well worth watching.
This boxset is a must have and contains hours of entertainment, that people of all ages will enjoy.Mr. BeanReview date: 2007-11-13 Rating: 10 out of 10A hilarious series which neatly juxtaposes with Rowan Atkinson's other masterpiece 'Blackadder' as that focused on clever verbal situations, whereas Bean concentrates more on the physical aspect. Mr. Bean himself is a mute version of Prince Edmund from the first series of 'Blackadder.' Bean may appear stupid however he shows some signs of inventiveness.
My personal favourite Bean episode is the Christmas one as the choir scenes and the turkey scenes still has the viewer in stiches even though they have seen them numerous times before. The DIY one is a close second as Mr. Bean finds a ingenious way of getting from the store to his house by riding on the top of his Mini. I have not got the DVD itself so I cannot comment on it however there are some Bean episodes from the inferior animated series.
