Bonkers - In Both Meanings Of The Word
Review date: 2008-08-31 Rating: 10 out of 10
This is brilliant. Well written, very well acted by a large and quality cast, the only question is how can it have failed when broadcast?
Well, I'm not sure it did fail as such. Reviews were mixed, but then it is not a straight forward, run of the mill ITV1 comedy sit-com. For a start it's got brains, heart and imagination.
In fact, now I come to think of it, what was something this good doing on ITV1. Surely some mistake?
Whatever the reason - although whoever gave it the go-ahead deserves a pat on the back - it is a gem and one my wife and I enjoyed so much we watched four episodes on the trot and only stopped because it was way past midnight by that point. The next day saw us watch the remaining two. That's six hours of a weekend taken up by a comedy series. I can think of no other show I've watched with such enthusiasm.
Watch it - you'd be bonkers not too.
