like no other war film
Review date: 2008-07-16 Rating: 6 out of 10
give this film a chance. it is a very low budget production and it shows but its strength is the unusual lengths it goes to in order to present a human face to war and sacrifice. men doing things no-one in their right mind would do. the fact that every character depicted clearly wants to be somewhere else but does their 'duty' is what produces war. I can't think of a film to compare it to (not Saving Private Ryan!) but it's worth watching. I enjoyed it despite its glaring shortcomings.

Utter DrivelReview date: 2008-07-07 Rating: 2 out of 10Oh how I wished I'd read the reviews on this DVD before wasting my money on it .It says on the cover 'Saving Private Ryan But Even Better' Well you should be able to have whoever wrote that on the trades description act for that alone, They obviously never watched Pte Ryan,You get the feel of what this DVD is going to be like in the first 10 mins and it is just appallingly made and infuriatingly slow moving, Complete and utter tosh from start to finish....save your money and 2 hours of your life you will never get back..... Save your moneyReview date: 2008-06-22 Rating: 2 out of 10This is not even worth buying at £2.49, utter rubbish no matter what it says on the cover. As for being 'better than Private Ryan', whoever publicly voiced that opinion should be certified!!I didn't finish watching this filmReview date: 2008-06-19 Rating: 2 out of 10This film clumsily lumbers along without any story or interest to the point where I turned it off. The cast are unknown and they will stay that way. The dialogue and screen play is very poor. The constant ethnic background music for each country makes this feel like a poor 1970s holiday commercial.
This is the worst film I have ever watched.
The FallenReview date: 2008-06-02 Rating: 4 out of 10I bought this DVD on the jacket info comparing this film to Saving Private Ryan, this claim is disingenuous. The film has aspirations which are to be admired but it has an overall amateurish feel which when looking at the 'extras' on the DVD becomes apparent why - it was indeed made by a mix of professionals and amateurs. So Saving Private Ryan it is not but it has a quirky charm and should in my opinion be viewed in that light.
