Synopsis
The Friday Night Project's hysterical co-host Alan Carr rides solo for this hilarious stand-up show at Hammersmith Apollo.
He Takes Camp Comedy To A Whole New Level.
Review date: 2008-08-29 Rating: 10 out of 10
Alan Carr is easily one of those comedians who takes what we know about stand up comedy and turns it on its head. He's not a cynical comedian nor is he an over the top gay comedian who spends the entire show talking about his sex life (See Julian Clary). Alan is a comedian who can take real life, talk about it in the typical bitchy female way and make it hysterical.
His stories are classic comic scenarios placed in an environment that every audience member can relate to. He's an every day comedian, he's the man you will likely sit next to on a bus who's going to insist on telling you his life story whether you have your MP3 player on or not. The difference between Alan and the guy on the bus is you really want to listen to Alan. You have no doubt his stories will have you in stitches as he gives you his own camp and sadistic view on life.
This is one of his first live DVDs and he's someone that will become an even bigger success than he already is. He may be on TV a bit too much, but that's simply because he's so witty and funny. He's not ashamed to make fun of himself and his own life, all he asks in return is that you take an open minded view to his comedy style.

Hilarious is an over used termReview date: 2008-08-25 Rating: 10 out of 10But completely justified in this case! Excellently delivered and brilliant material. This show is consistenly funny and very entertaining.
I struggle to see how people say this show is outdated, possibly it is them who require updating?

Witty and well observed.Review date: 2008-03-18 Rating: 8 out of 10This is Alan Carr's first stand up DVD and it is a riot. It's mostly observational and anecdotal, but his stories are original, witty and well delivered.
It is generally suitable for everyone, it has a bit of an edge, a few rude bits but is pretty inoffensive.
It's easy to watch and Alan comes across as really likeable. It's consistently laugh out loud funny and his characters are identifiable and realistic.
If you like Alan on the Friday Night Project you will love it. I would definitely recommend it and unless you are likely to find his shiny campness annoying, I'm sure your belly will hurt from laughing!!Not my Words... Alan's mostly.Review date: 2008-02-11 Rating: 10 out of 10I received this DVD off my grandmother for christmas. I am a massive fan of Alan Carr and Justin Lee Collins' "The Friday Night Project" and so bought this, almost expecting more of a great thing.. and I got it. It is still the Alan that we love from TFNP and was extremely funny.
The DVD is probably the best stand-up comedy DVD that I have in my collection.
I found myself laughing constantly. I watched it over and over and still found it hilarious. The jokes are spot on and Alan's "Life-Observations" are so close to the "Real World" and "Real People" that you will think that he has been stalking you on your weekly shop! Haha!
There were jokes that literally made me cry with laughter, and not just to wet my eyes there was enough to soak my T-Shirt.
I was in STITCHES.
If you are a fan of him, the Friday Night Project or his other work this is well worth a watch.. very funny. Well done Alan! You've done it again..
