Each episode covers the lives of certain celebrities, and while many of the targets are wholly obvious, that doesn’t make the programme any less enjoyable. So into the firing line step David & Victoria, George Michael, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Jennifer Aniston and more, and their lives are joyfully lampooned by a company of talented performers. In fact, this is the only real fault with Star Stories: you can’t call it ambitious with its subject matter at all. Not that we, truthfully, minded that much. For it’s such good fun. In many ways they deliberately play things over the top, to real comic effect, throwing in fake magazines, parodies of certain points of its targets’ lives and much more besides. It’s infectiously daft, and not short on the laughs either. More Star Stories are to follow this opening collection, unsurprising given the critical and commercial acclaim this opening selection have garnered (the show won best new comedy at the British Comedy Awards in 2006). But for now, it’s well worth furnishing yourself with these six very funny, very accessible episodes of a programme with no shortage of future targets. --Jon Foster

Amazon.co.uk Review
A gleeful comedy sketch show that happily takes potshots at celebrity culture, the first series of Star Stories is great fun, and all six episodes are collected together on this DVD.
Brilliant comedy!

I saw this advertised on TV and avoided it like the plague, thinking it looked, well... silly. I only grudgingly watched it after a friend lent me the DVD, assuring me I'd love it. How right she was!
I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard at a comedy series. It is silly, but just too funny. The actors are all fantastic, there's not a weak link in the bunch; especially Kevin Bishop, who's frankly hilarious as Tom Cruise.
I can't recommend this enough. Buy it!!
