An excellent ghost story
Review date: 2008-11-03 Rating: 8 out of 10

A couple Allen and Julie Pyke move to the country after their child is brutally murdered. In an attempt to get Julie to cope with her grief, Allen suggests that she starts to take photographs again(she is a photographer by profession). She is hesitant at first, but then walks to a long abandoned prison, and takes some pictures. What she sees on these pictures after they are developed, both shocks her and causes an obsession to grow in her. Concerned about his wifes sanity, Allen starts to make enquiries about the history of the house they are living in. What he discovers shocks him to the core.
If you like to be scared(and I suggest that you may well do looking up a film called 'Dark Remains'), then look no further, as this film certainly delivers on the fear factor. There are several serious jolts, and a thoroughly creepy atmosphere is maintained throughout. The ending does disappoint slightly, but all in all its an excellent low budget horror film. 4 out of 5

Boredom Remains
Review date: 2008-01-02 Rating: 2 out of 10

This film was so terrible - the acting was dreadful, not scary and just plain boring a complete waste of time! To everyone out there who are contemplating watching this disasterous film........don't do it!

Very routine horror that has its' moments
Review date: 2007-07-05 Rating: 4 out of 10

To escape from the nightmare memories of finding their daughter Emma murdered in her bed Julie (Cheri Christian) and Allen (Greg Thompson) flee to the solitude of the mountains and rent a secluded cabin close to a disused prison.

As soon as the traumatised couple settle in Julie starts photographing apparitions in the house and prison that only she can see when she prints the negatives, and the weird unnerving Jim (Scott Hodges) soon makes his presence felt.

This very routine horror achieved modest success winning a couple of specialist Horror awards, probably because Laurence Avenet-Bradley was director, writer, cinematographer, editor and he somehow managed to end up with a passably creepy film.

There are many better horror films out there, if you are curious only rent.
