They Got Me Too!
Review date: 2007-12-29 Rating: 4 out of 10

Owing to the lack of time to scrutinise every aspect of the item's description (Christmas approaching fast and everyone to buy for), I, too, was duped into thinking this was the long-awaited UK DVD release of the 1967 film ... what search criteria can those hoping to buy said movie (on a Region 2 DVD release) input other than "DVD" "Beatles" and "Magical Mystery Tour"? That's precisely what I inputed and this is what Amazon's search engine threw at me. I thought nothing of the fact that the cover differed from the NTSC release of the DVD movie ... that is often the case with UK releases versus US releases ... and, again, I didn't have the time to scrutinise the cover for indications that the product was anything other that what I thought it to be. Perhaps Amazon could help the situation by including the "Rock Milestones" or "The Essential Albums Of All Time" tag-lines to their product heading, as has been done with other titles in the series such as Whitesnake, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, Green Day, David Bowie (I could go on)? Particularly as there seem to be quite a few people who have returned this DVD for precisely the same reason.

Magical Mystery Tour
Review date: 2007-11-26 Rating: 2 out of 10

Well, it was a mystery but not magical. I had to pay for the return of a DVD which I thought was the 1967 TV film of the same name. It was in fact a documentery of the making of the LP of the same name.

Of course it's not the actual film!

For goodness' sake, you guys - did you even look at the cover image? "Rock Milestones", "The Essential Albums Of All Time" (try doing an Amazon DVD search on those phrases and see what you come up with), and then there's the "video description" section, which makes it perfectly clear it's not the actual film. OK, so the synopsis as presented here is ambiguous, but it's probably straight off the back of the DVD case, which in the context of being one of a series of rock album (and in this case film) documentaries, is exactly as would be expected. Sheesh!

Rip-off

This is NOT the eclectic film they made in 1967. It's a load of old tosh, like the other reviewers have said.

Steer clear!!!

DON'T BUY THIS RUBBISH
Review date: 2007-07-28 Rating: 2 out of 10

Not for Beatles fans, this is something i mistakenly thought was the brilliant tv film "Magical Mystery Tour" but was disappointed to find it being ripped to shreds by a series of unknown hacks or "musicologists" (and some bloke who went to John's art college) who never really had a clue what they were on about at all, interspersed with a few snatches of the film - the "interviews" were deeply unsatisfying and in many cases insulting, the whole thing was about watching a few supersilious fools rambling on about things they knew nothing about who were not remotely Beatles fans. Avoid at all costs.
