As tv cop shows go this is the BEST!!! Gripping stories, personal life tensions & insightful view of equality in the US police force in the USA in the 80's too! All this with humour and wit too!!
The acting is top of the class. The stories were very strong and about issues that society is still grappling with today. In fact all that really dates this show are the fashions!!
I thoroughly enjoyed watching very single episode on this box set and highly recommend it!!

I am fed up with the lack of information on Amazon. Just what are the episodes on this volume and are any repeated form Cangney and Lacey Vol 1 ?!

A revoultionary series for women. Plots are entertaining. The relationships not just between Cagney and Lacey but all of the characters are watchable with a mixtue of humour, emotion and drama.
Rock on girls. more, more, more..... Not "just another cop show". See, women can carry a project. Great tv.

Wow!! Having vague recollections as a child of the original girl power NY cops, then becoming hooked on ITV3's re-runs of Cagney and Lacey this DVD box set was a godsend...highly recommended. For anyone wanting to see the first, first series with Meg Foster then it's currently running on ITV3. Buy this box set for all of your friends to help the release of Season 2. Enjoy, Cagney and Lacey fans and for all those of you who appreciated cop dramas before they swapped true grit for high tec - buy it now!!!

It brought back so many memories watching these episodes again. It's a shame about the missing early episodes (Meg Foster) because I didn't really see them the first time round but it's just left me wanting more. When is the next lot coming out?
