"Darted in my own Armchair" or riveted to my chair?

Well as the title suggests this CD is an "official" pressing of the above-titled Tubes "Official Bootleg". If you are a fan of the early Tubes days, this is NOT going to disappoint you. Right from the word go this CD delivers. The Grandiose instrumental is preceeded by a snip-it of Young and Rich featuring Bill Spooners inimitable voice, part gravel part silk. Next up what we know as "What do you want from life" kicks off one of the most interesting instrumentals I've ever heard performed, "up from the deep" style and without spoiling it too much - The mix is fantastic. Michael Cotten's synthesisers are crisp and to the fore on this mixing, which had they not been so, would have spoiled things given the prominence they have in this instrumental. The Tubes show a harder edge to their music, bordering on Heavy rock in places - you'll love it. This is my personal favourite, then again I love their instrumentals - they know how to play.
What do you want from life sandwiches this instrumental and is Tube-ticklingly funny with a geriatric twist. Get up Granny!
Grab my fruit here! - Next up "The Tubes World Tour" great playing here too - I love the guitar solo.
Now it's a dose of the "cover versions" Gimme dat harp and Love will keep us together - watch out for Fee waybill's scream at the end of the latter, served up on the album TRASH.
Now my personal favourite vocal favourite of the CD. "Pimp"; sleazy lyrics and a strong melody make this a great tune, Sputnik Spooner on vocals once again - this song should have been a single.
Next up "The S&M sandwich!!" - Mondo Bondage, Dont touch me there and the Mondo Bondage finale - this is great to listen to, It must have been great to watch, mike's syths again stunning - Come on Tubes project (Watch out for that one later this year)!
Finally Stand up and Shout - Quay Lewd does all the talking and I must admit that the dialogue throughout is typical Tubes tongue-in-cheekiness.
The rock icon Quay Lewd tells the band "The Dirt-boxes" a thing or two, and where they can stuff it, and the audience too, since this finale is the audience participation number - GREAT STUFF - GET IT.
