3rd Season Airwolf is the ultimate action season
Review date: 2007-11-25 Rating: 10 out of 10

Well, how many have dreamed of the day when all three CBS seasons of Airwolf were released on DVD... and the 3rd Season - until now - was the Holy Grail as it hadn't been released before. Packaged in some nice minimalist artwork continuing on from the previously-released style from the 1st and 2nd Season Box Sets there are, however still no extras which is a shame.

I personally prefer buying the Region 1 DVDs because then you get to hear the audio & music at the original speed intended (unlike the British Region 2 PAL releases where everything is sped up slightly due to the frame rate conversion from NTSC - PAL). If you've a chipped multi-region player - like the majority in the UK - then this is the one to get. Plus the dollar is cheap as chips at the minute, so buy direct from Amazon.com

But even though this season had many "domestic" episodes to try to reign in the budget, the producers also produced some really superb spy (there's more Archangel this season than last) and hardware gems such as 'Airwolf II', 'Where Have All The Children Gone?", 'Fortune Teller', 'Day of Jeopardy', 'The Deadly Circle', and 'Kingdom Come' being the top episodes. The downside to the 3rd Season is that it contained two of the most universally hated scripts 'And A Child Shall Lead' and 'Tracks' which should have been give to the production team next door - KNIGHT RIDER.

Overall though, the action quotient in this season was well up on previous years and it produced some of the best melodic, synth music by composers Sylvester Levay and Udi Harpaz of the series in my opinion including the superlative chase music for 'Annie Oakley' and 'Hawke's Run'. To complement these three seasons of the show, you may be interested in the official digitally remastered re-release of the acclaimed Airwolf Themes soundtrack which has been released from late December 2007 on Apple iTunes... just Google 'Airwolf Themes' for full details from the official website.

ive just recieved this dvd set of "airwolf "the series.
for those who have been on the moon & dont know what its about :
airwolf is a prototype mach 1 attack helicoptor reaching speeds of the
fastest jets &is stolen by ace ex-vietnam veteran stringfellow hawke.
together with his closest freind domonic santini they pilot airwolf on
unofficial missions by the firm led by michael goldsmith-briggs 111 also
known as archangel.all the firm wear white suits, cool !
hawke only agrees to fly airwolf in exchange for information to find his
brother sinjin hawke a m.i.a. in vietnam.
the u.s. government want airwolf back but only hawke & santini know the
location of airwolfs hideout.
the music by sylvester levay is a top ringtone favourite for mobiles!
