Silly, funny, worth the money
Review date: 2008-09-29 Rating: 8 out of 10
Do you like witty, well written dialogue? Do you enjoy subtle, unassuming humour? If so, I wouldn't really recommend Idiocracy. There is a subtle irony in this product, being that it is on the one hand a social commentary on the state of our future intelligence, and on the other hand, a truly idiotic film. But it's charm shines through with nods to current trends here and there, and generally fine premise. Funny, crude and more than a little disturbingly plausible. Buy it if you laugh at Beavis & Butthead. Same creator after all!

Don't Judge Mike on this load of c***Review date: 2008-07-12 Rating: 4 out of 10I get what Judge is trying to say - that everything seems to be aimed at the lowest common denominator (i.e. reality shows)and if we continue like this it'll only get worse. But surely he can say that and still be funny?
To say this is a bad film is not enough. I found it frustrating to watch, I kept thinking this would be so good if that happened or if he had thought harder about the plot.
I think that's what really disappointed me - I could see a good movie struggling to get out. I'm not a comedy snob, I actually have Baseketball in my collection, but I can't see me watching this movie again, ever...even under threat of death.
That said I did laugh at the concept of a programme called 'Ouch My Balls' being the top rated show.Don't Take Too SeriouslyReview date: 2008-07-02 Rating: 8 out of 10I really don't think this film is meant to be taken too seriously. I found it wonderfully entertaining and deliciously silly.
It mixes in all the usual apocalptic concepts with some black and cutting humour which sets it apart from so many other films.A hilariously brilliant filmReview date: 2008-03-29 Rating: 10 out of 10Idiocracy is simply comic genius. It is in my top 5 list of favorite films along with Amelie, Donnie Darko, Pans Labarynth and Hitch. Although some people have deemed this film as being 'immature' i think it is one for both the intellectuals and the average person; as long as you can appreciate humor in its simplest forms. Now I'll agree that it's not the greatest film in the world but it has brought some memorable lines such as, 'go away, 'bate-in,' 'bate-in' being a shortened version of masterbating. The details are to be admired as well, I happened to notice on prehaps the third time watching the film that there were two buildings that were falling apart but simply had rope tied around them as a support system: it made me laugh.
To sum up, it is unarguably a funny film and if anyone disagrees they are simply being stuck up. Wake up sheepleReview date: 2008-01-03 Rating: 10 out of 10Those of you who do not 'get' this film please wake up and look beyond the presentation to see what the actual message is.
Don't judge it as a 'film'. Who cares whether or not it suits your sense of humour. It's what is being conveyed that is important.
