Never seen the original but this was very poor! just a very average and predictable teen slasher movie.

This one (american version) is
better than the english one!

This is one the best remakes in history,
this dvd (American) is much better than the english one!
English one is still good, but
this includes more!
One of my fave actresses Michelle
is in this, her death here is so cool,
ice hockey skates EWWW!

Terrible remake

Please ignore the pre-pubescent teenagers who've been raving over this Hollywood garbage. They're young and they don't know any better. The original was a classic which influenced Halloween, it was well ahead of it's time, and took risks that aren't commercially acceptable nowadays. The remake is dreadful, this is why:
1.God awful actors, all the female characters were identical and unmemorable. I welcomed their deaths; as an audience we need to invest and care about these victims in order for their demise have an emotional impact on us.
2. Terrible script, left nothing to the imagination. Pure Hollywood garbage!
3. No suspense, no atmosphere.
4. Sloppy hamfisted directing.
5. Clichéd back-story which ruined the ambiguity of the original.
