I was glued to the first scene of this fun adventure flick that is over twenty years old. Everyone did really well in this, Christopher Lee was great as the bad guy while a young Christian Bale shines as Jum-Jum (what a wicked name!) Though it's old, the acting's a little wooden and the special effects are a bit bad but it's so enjoyable that I had the theme tune in my head all night. Well worth seeing for kids and adults alike.

I loved this film, although admittedly it isn't everyone's cup of tea. Most of the film is in english, some of it has been dubbed, and the dubbing could have been done better. The visual effects work well despite being more than twenty years old.
Nicolas Pickard's acting starts off a little wooden, but he gets into his stride as the story starts to take off. Christian Bale makes a good show as does Susannah York, although Christopher Lee steals the screen each time he appears.
This is an entertaining fantasy film that kids who have not been brought up on robocop and alien should enjoy, and adults like me who have entered their second childhood should enjoy too. A great film to watch if you like a little lighthearted entertainment that doesn't tax the mind too much!
