Utter waste of time....
Review date: 2007-09-28 Rating: 4 out of 10
I am afraid this movie is one of the most boring, slow and mind numbing I have had the misfortune to watch in a long time.. The cast are very "pretty", but that is all that can be said. Don't waste your time take a nice long soak in the bath instead.. Much more enjoyable..

Trust the Rom ComReview date: 2007-09-10 Rating: 6 out of 10After watching the first 15 minutes of 'Trust the Man' you are lulled into the sense that you are actually watching an adult film about relationships. The dialogue is crisp and is helped tremendously by a very talented cast. However, the film descends into traditional romantic comedy territory by the second half and forgoes the intelligent route for a sappy ending. This is unfortunate because for a bit is was one of the best comedy films I had seen in a while. I also had issue with the conclusion of the film as I felt that some people did not get what they actually deserved.
This is an interesting watch for a couple who want a slightly more intelligent and rude romantic comedy to watch on a night in with some Pop Pop.
Plodding Film Saved Only By The Virtue Of It's very Talented CastReview date: 2007-03-13 Rating: 4 out of 10I loved the performances of all the cast in this extremely light rom-com (and I mean light) even the supporting cast were good. The standout though was David Duchovny who has impeccable comic ability and timing, he has proven in the past what a talented comedic actor he is, both with Larry Sanders and lighter episodes of the X-Files, in this film he really does shine. I can't wait to see his upcoming performance in The TV Set.
Anyway what let the film down for me though was the fact that it was neither funny nor clever, at times I felt the humour to be quite juvenile, which isn't always a bad thing in movies, I just felt that here it didn't work, especially the fart/ball punching jokes. I also felt that what we were seeing was just random scenes thrown together instead of something linear and progressive. Maybe that was the point but it felt really disjointed. Oh and the ending was really farcical and embarrassing.
