Sonic the Hedgehog's US Hit

This series was originally intended for the US, and the UK got minor exposure to it on TV. I remember watching this years ago as a kid.
The animation style is the same as that in Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog (which was far more commonly broadcast on UK TV) however, it's far less slapstick and more serious.
Rather than the comedic outings of Sonic and Tails as they outsmart Robotnik, Scratch, Grounder and Cocnuts, we're given a more serious and darker Sonic cartoon.
Sonic, and the freedom fighters (the same freedom fighters as those in the US Archie comics) fight against a much more sinister and competent Robotnik (again, resembling the one in the US Archie comics) in a world where Robotnik more or less rules.
There were more episodes planned for this, but they were never produced, this set contains all the produced episodes.
This is more for the Sonic fan who can remember the old days. There's no Shadow, no Cream, not even Knuckles or Amy, it's just Sonic, Tails, Sally, Rotor, Antoine, Bunnie, Uncle Chuck, Robotnik and Snively.

I ordered this from Amazon (.com) and it was great. Every single DVD has extras plus 5-7 episodes. There are 4 DVDs in total. This is the complete series. (26 episodes) It is one of the best Sonic series.

The DVD requires a Multi-regional DVD player but it is still great. This is for real Sonic fans. (Though fans of Sonic Adenture etc. are still sonic fans) If your expecting a series like Sonic X Do Not Buy!
