The house of Eliott series 1 + 2
Review date: 2007-10-27 Rating: 10 out of 10

These two series of the House of Eliott is a delight to watch. They are fun and full of different adventures of the two sister Evie and Bea. It is a delight and is a must for any one who likes British drama. I highly recomend them both. I cannot wait to see three.

Absolutely Fabulous Sweetie!
Review date: 2007-03-27 Rating: 10 out of 10

The 3rd and final series of the House of Elliot starring Stella Gonet as Bea and Louise Lombard as Evie is every bit as delightful as series 1 and 2. Further character development means we learn more about the lives of seamstresses Tilly, Madge, Betty and Agnes and there is both joy and sorrow in the lives of these characters as the final 10 episodes unfold. There is baby joy for Tilly and husband Norman, there is anxiety for Madge about the state of her marriage as well as the future of her brother who has lost his mining job follow the General Strike. Jack Maddox and Bea continue with their "can't live with you or without you" relationship as he turns his attention to journalism and later politics, while the sisters embark on a new venture into the Ready to Wear market.
But can they trust new designer Grace? Can Jack help young Russian asylum seeker Katya to remain in Britain?

And which of the Bohemian young artists will catch the heart of the lovely Evie? Working on catalogues for the fashion house two young beaus have their eye on Evie, but which will she choose?

With a sharp script by Jean Marsh and Eileen Atkins (Upstairs Downstairs creaters) this final series is a joy from start to finish. The detail to the fashions, work conditions, changing work attitudes and expanding world of theatre and "talkies" at the cinema for the masses is excellent portrayed. My only grumbles are that there were no more series after this, and it only contains 10 wonderful episodes.

Nevertheless, complete your collection today and recall the days of top quality television drama that the whole family could enjoy.
