Excellent film! Nothing to do with Cheech and Chong for those who avoid it because they think it is another film of theirs. It rings so very true even today of the state of the world...of the unsustainability of consumerism in the Capitalist world. It also gives you an insight into how and why people started environmental movements. It is funny and light hearted. A real treasure!

I have been looking out for a DVD of this for years. The heart of the film is in the 60s, which I'm too young to remember, but is set in the eighties. It lampoons eighties stereotype stuffed shirts and yuppies brilliantly, and shamelessly romanticises the drug and hippie ideals that we grow up and realise are unsustainable.
Really funny, with some great bad taste moments. Great casting, the Stools, Sammy's needy wife, the FBI bloke, and Eric Roberts' best performance
