Product Description
Classic British comedy film of the 50's starring the very underrated John Gregson (Genevieve, Angels One-Five) as Tony Hudson, a young man who with his bride Jane,(June Thorburn) want to spend their honeymoon crising in the yacht "Turtle". at a party they are introduced to a rival yacht owner, Sir Harold Brazier, (Cecil Parker, The Ladykillers, Oh! What A Lovely War). Their paths cross more than once as the honeymooners try to enjoy their sailing adventure without too many disasters or interruptions.
Made by RANK studios, it's a gentle, quite comical little film, very typical of British cinema in the 50's .
Delightful Sailing Comedy
Review date: 2007-12-31 Rating: 8 out of 10
"True as a Turtle" provides an enjoyable look back at sailing and society in post-war England. The boats are beautiful, the sailing lore fascinating, and the people delightful. This is a little know treat--especially for those who sail.
