Ultimate Roman Comedy Epic!
Review date: 2007-09-06 Rating: 10 out of 10
Watching this film recently I was surprised how good it looks (colour, sets, costumes etc) and how enjoyable it was. Plot, acting etc are all fine. Funniest moment has to be the bike with square wheels!!!
This beats "Life Of Brian" hands down for entertainment value.

carry on with the glamour Review date: 2007-03-20 Rating: 8 out of 10set in egypt, although filmed in england as usual but with bigger and better settings than ever before and this would indeed fool the viewer to think that carry on had a budget for once but those in the know like myself know the truth. The big budgeted epic cleopatra was released in 1963 and the carry on producers chanced their arm by asking the studio of the 63 classic if they could borrow the settings, since they werent in use the answer was yes and this helped give carry on cleo a sense of class that lifted this to another classic, you had great jokes along with the great costumes and settings and this made the film even better.
Essentially a spoof of the beth taylor and ricky burton classic, carry on cleo follows the original story more or less to a tea but gives the characters weaknesses that outshine the importance of their stature, kenny williams is a class act in this as is sid james and kenny connor and the notion that this is one of the finest carry ons can seldom be disputed, this is an example of a spoof that works by being simple in its execution, infamy ,in famy ,theyve all got in for me is the classic line here that time has never forgotten.
