This release features the best bits of all five live events from 2005. The events and phenomena shown are not only the most dramatic in the history of the live show, but probably in the history of the entire MH series.
Over three nights the crew investigate various buildings in Torbay, Devon. At the first location they discover that five coins placed on a white piece of paper have moved inexplicably. The team then use a planchette to communicate with the spirits. A strange symbol is drawn which leads the team to the story of how a French sailor lost his life. When the team use a ouija board, resident psychic Derek Acorah is possessed by the spirit of a man who murdered his lover. Derek then needs to be man-handled out of the room by the teams' head of security, Andy Lynch. This is the first of three very intense possessions suffered by Derek over the three nights. 6' 4" guest psychic David Wells then allegedly attacks the shows producer, Karl Beattie, when he shares a cell with him. During another ouija board session in a different building, Yvette Fielding collapses and needs to be carried outside. Parasychologist Ciaran O'Keeffe tries a white-noise experiment with a television. When Yvette asks a spirit to turn the television off, it does. O'Keeffe is not able to offer a scientific explanation at that time. In the same room, lighting-rigger Stuart Torrevell becomes agitated and then punches members of the crew. Again, a member of the crew needs to be man-handled out of the building - Andy certainly had his work cut out at Torbay.
At Elstree Film Studios in Hertfordshire, the team encounter a first for the show - during a session with a ouija board an angry spirit spells out a very rude word. In The Hollybush Inn Derek begins to feel a tightness around his throat. At the same time Soundman John Gilbert has problems breathing and needs to be taken outside. Then Stuart has problems breathing and needs to be carried outside. Then Camera-Assistant Iain Cash faints and is carried outside.
At Caphouse Colliery in Barnsley, the team travel 450 feet to the bottom of the pit. Derek encounters the spirit of a mischevious miner who grabs his hand and tries to drag him down a tunnel. Stuart has his hard-hat knocked off by unseen hands and a disembodied voice terrifies Yvette. This may have something to do with her telling the spirits "we mean you no respect."
At the Commercial Tavern in London's East End, the team believe they contact the spirit of Joseph Merrick a.k.a the elephant man. During a session with a ouija board the team contact the spirit of a Nigerian man. Yvette comes out with another classic. She asks "are you a dark entity?" Derek's subsequent possession makes the girls scream and Andy carries him outside again. The team are joined by Paul O'Grady for their investigation of the Blind Beggar Inn. Derek encounters the spirits of two men who he says were responsible for the famous ripper murders.
The 5 Access All Areas programmes consist of members of the team talking about their experiences infront of a live studio audience. Members of the audience get to put questions to the team and Karl, Yvette and Derek are put through the MHL quiz. This was Derek Acorah's last MHL event. For fans of Most Haunted this release is probably essential but it must be said that since Stuart shaved his head, he is the only genuinely scary feature of the show.

All in all I think this 4 volume DVD of Most Haunted Lives is amazing! Having never seen any of the Lives from this DVD, I now feel like I can actually talk about the Lives and know what I'm talking about! Also the 4th DVD is full of 5 Access All Areas, the last night of each lives AAA, and they are all very funny! I recomend this dvd to any Most Haunted Fan, you'll love it and watch it over and over again!
