The true beginning of melrose place
Review date: 2008-03-11 Rating: 8 out of 10
I picked up this season when it was released and recently re-watched it again. It reminded me how good melrose was at its prime i.e seasons 2-5. the first season was far too earnest and preachy like 90210, it's older sister show.seasons 6 and 7 were a far cry from melrose at it's peak, the cast had hemorraghed so many of its main stars the show was barely recognisable anymore.
Season 2 takes off slowly from the poor season 1 but 4-5 episodes in and the real drama begins and the show switches into an over the top melodramatic and hilariously far fetched treat.
The joy of melrose is watching the characters muddle from one mess to another and showing dire judgement in the process!
highlights include syd blackmailing and marrying michael, amanda becoming a queen of the complex, alsion and billy going back and forth and back and forth breaking up and making up, and of course crazy kimberly making a welcome return!
my only gripe has nothing really to do with this set, i got so tired waiting for season 3 to arrive in europe i had to get it in u.s.(OUT THERE SINCE LAST NOVEMBER) last month. i SIMPLY COUDLN'T WAIT ANY LONGER FOR MY NEXT FIX OF MELROSE MADNESS!
