Worst film I've ever seen
Review date: 2008-10-26 Rating: 2 out of 10
This has got to be the worst film I've ever seen ...Its more like a comedy and a poor one at that. Very odd setting for a film, strange unbelievable characters and very odd "grass" monsters ...Just Daft
It was that bad I actually threw the DVD away after I'd watched it!!

It just didn't cut itReview date: 2008-07-20 Rating: 2 out of 10I was so so so disappointed with this film, having put it aside for a long time because I imagined ti would be so good. However I was totally wrong and am almost embarassed that a fil this bad could be from one of the better directors out there. The storyline is weak, unrealistic (when I say unrealistic i do not mean because it features a mythical being, rather that the plot does not do it justice in the way I would imagine it to)and I was not at all impressed by the acting. In fact I fell asleep in the middle and had to watch it in two parts to see the whole thing. If you want to see some of the master's true genius watch Signs, or anything but this, it will put you to sleep and it's going straight to Oxfam.Agree with another reviewer-the worst film I have ever seen.Review date: 2008-07-04 Rating: 2 out of 10I went into the cinema with high hopes-a great director and his recent work, such as 'The Village' had been absolutely brilliant. On top of that the trailers had really enticed me to see this film-it looked chilling, entertaining and unique. However having watched the film I quickly realised that only one of these things was true and that was the uniqueness-uniquely appalling. It was dull and dragged out-I felt like walking out halfway through the film and I NEVER EVER feel like that. The story was actually pathetic-its fantasy element was childish and it had nothing to appeal to any target group. The cereal box finale was absolutely pathetic. It tried to be a modern day fairytale and I have absolutely no problem with that concept-Pans Labyrinth is one of the best films I have ever seen-its a shame that this film is in a completely different league. No one is truly a loser who has hope and decency in their heartReview date: 2008-05-28 Rating: 8 out of 10That sums up this little film. It has a nude young woman who is not sexy and shows how the heart matters more than anything else. How a ruined life is redeemable, and no one is useless. At last pity is shown to be a good thing. And the person you think is insignificant may change the world. Its great!! Review date: 2008-02-19 Rating: 10 out of 10When I first heard of this film I was really excited, but for all the wrong reasons. They marketed it as a bit of a horror film, which is wrong. This is not a horror film. If I had gone into the cinema expecting to see a scary movie I would have been really dissapointed. Its a fantasy film. A really well told fairy tale. The acting is brilliant and yes the plot is a bit far fetched but isn't that the point of a fantasy?!
There are some scary bits in it, some funny bits and some sad bits.
Each to their own but I really enjoyed it and its stayed in my head since I've seen it. I really dont think it deserves the panning some people have been giving it
