There is no pleasing some reviewers

I read somne of the more negative views and I wondered if I had signed on to review a different DVD, please have no fears, this is brilliant. One for putting yer feet up with a cup of your favourite drink, a bar of choccy, and just chuckle for an hour and a half. Its relaxing because he is so natural onstage, but it left me with a real chilled out happy feeling when it sadly had to end. Buy this, you wont be disappointed I promise.

Giant cages, kids in bed, and stupid Americans.

Dylan Moran has a great stage presence - his seemingly half drunken delivery and unkempt yet clean physical style make him visually very appealing.

His observations on life are dry and often dark, he has a great habit of throwing an abstract comment into the mix whilst he is speaking to catch you off-guard and add to the hilarity. Although I don't think that this is Dylan Moran at his funniest - it is still extremely good and well worth watching. He seems a little less angry, less aggressive than he did in Monster - but only a little! Infact, Monster was in many ways a better show than this, but Monster was always going to be difficult to top. What you get in "Like, Totally" is a set of views which have been finely chiselled into a great comedy repertoire. Dylan seems natural, although this was no doubt performed many times you never feel that it has been rehearsed and repeated - it feels as though this is the first time!

This contains one of my favourite stand-up moments of all time, Dylan Moran talking about how stupid Americans sound more stupid than anyone else. Also - his comments on how other nations are assimilated into `Americadom' by the use of Starbucks was brilliant. Actually, his surreal explanation seems to be quite an apt metaphor for the Americanisation of the world via capitalism. There is a fair bit of anti-America humour in this which pretty much sums up the zeitgeist.

The encore at the end is pretty short, and the show seems to have been clumsily edited at points so that you never really feel like a member of the audience. There are no extras on the DVD either - BUT - this is still a great addition for any stand-up fan.

This isn't a constant laugh-athon like many other stand-up shows, but it is very well thought out and a lot of the humour will stay with you after you've watched it. Moran is one of the best things to happen to modern comedy, he is a fantastic actor and to watch him perform his own material gives you an interesting glimpse into the mind (and the views) of this Irish gem.

Great

I'd only recommend buying this DVD if you have a spare couple months to get over your complete obsession with the humour, sensitivity and sheer intelligence of this man. Prepare to be taken to a higher plane and look down on the world with the eyes of a better, happier you. Outrageously funny, though some have accused his humour of being egocentrically irish, but frankly they are missing the point - Moran tirelessly treads the boundary between self-important reality and the disgustingly hilarious nature of the introspectively obsessed human race. He's almost the anti-comedian as you get the feeling there's a certain catharsis going on, rather than a plea for adoration.

Morans' sophistication lies in between the lines - his sentences are like drum beats, playing a tune only he can hear at first. You can see the inspiration he takes from Ginsberg - the pithy sexual undertones and the passionate social commentary all wrapped up in "little-boy-wonder" have revolutionised the "popular" comedic scene for this viewer. Buy it at once, open your eyes and your mind.

Ignore the bad reviews, it's brilliant!

I can't understand why so many people have slated this DVD!! I bought it a while after having bought Monster, and I thought it was equally as good, if not better. I can't comprehend why so many people have said most of the material is lifted from Monster, because that's just not true- apart from a couple of bits which probably only add up to about 3 minutes in total out of the whole show, it's all new stuff, and it's hilarious. Didn't seem "lacklustre" or "bored" to me at all- I was nearly crying with laughter. If you liked Monster of if you haven't watched any of Moran's standup yet, then get this because it is hilarious. Honest.

"Like, Sporadically..."

This wasn't bad, just rather patchy and lack-lustre. Dylan Moran looks to have really mellowed into family life, which is at horrible odds with the character who's served him so well over the years. Eccentric maudlin drunk is good, eccentric maudlin drunk dad - less so. Now he's ploughing the same sentimental vein I associate with Arthur Smith. The angry young cynic has had the edges well and truly knocked off. The audience seemed to be enjoying it, however, and I rather suspect that that's because they were of an age and position to have grown up along with Moran and were recognising all the observations he was making in themselves. Is that not something he would have hated a few years ago - to be a true 'insider' to his audience, rather than society's outsider? Maybe I'm wrong, but he looked like he was taking the money and running with this show. Disappointing (Oh, and the ironic DVD extras would have been more funny if I hadn't watched them right after watching a whole show which looked like he hadn't put much effort into it).
