great film shame about the quality

i bought this film because of my love of margaret rutherford, but was in tears of laughter from frankie howerd! Look past the poor quality and enjoy frankies camp sideways glances,this film will make u giggle, wish it was longer!!!

Great movie - but terrible DVD quality...

Hilarious gem starring Frankie Howerd and Margaret Rutherford - both in fine form! Pity about the awful DVD quality (you will see from all the previous reviews - everyone is complaining about it, and quite right too!) However, this aside, this is a real treat!
Some 'classic' moments in this, in particular Frankie Howerd as he runs straight into a fake body hanging from a gallows, and Belinda Lee searching for a dropped book on the bus - but Ms. Rutherford thinking she's dead! (Ms. Lee bringing a real 'sparkle' to this picture as Janie Grey, who was to die so tragically in a road accident just a few years later)
Terry Alexander also stars - looking good as usual, alongside Pet Clark who many viewers may not immediately recognise. Ms. Rutherford's husband 'Stringer Davis' also appears - one who would go on to star in several films alongside his wife - a lovely and terribly 'gentle' mannered man.
A great movie that is only marred by the terrible quality of the DVD transfer - but I guess it's better than no copy at all!
N.B. The Five Stars are for the movie - not the DVD quality!
Little Gem totally ruined

Oh dear! I have waited years for this rarely seen film to come out on DVD. What a let down. This is the WORST quality of DVD i have ever seen. This, i believe, is the same company who produced those AWFUL LPs of the 70's where so called 'good looking models' paraded themselves to sell the so called 'Top of the Pops' latest hits. Somehow they even managed to leave out bits of the original film. Was this print an original VHS T.V. recording with very bad reception? I leave you to judge it yourself!
A minor Classic ruined

I am appalled that the Makers of the DVD,Pickwick can put out such a poor quality product and then edit out,without reference to it on the DVD, the phone box sketch that Frankie Howerd added to bring the length of the film up to schedule.
One of my favourite films.Frankie Howerd's first;Margaret Rutherford in sparkling form;and a ludicrous plot ruined by such a poor quality print.Pickwick say it's the best they could get.

Atrociously bad copy of a not too bad 50's film. Amazon should be ashamed of selling this 'back-street' quality film. How much money do they want to make?
Fair enough the price is not exhorbitant, but any price is too much for this quality of copy.
