Utterly Brilliant
Review date: 2008-09-11 Rating: 10 out of 10
I always judge comedy on it's ability to make me laugh aloud when I am on my own, and let me tell Ross Noble is the master of this feat. If you have never seen a performance by Ross then please make it one of your lifes goals. This man is utter genius and he doesn't have to try. His improvisation skills are just incredible and although the DVD's will never be as good as seeing him perform live you can't get much better comedy to sit at home and giggle at. Plus you'll be watching the extras for the rest of your life cos there is so much packed into these 4 discs to make your £14.99 literally the best money you have ever spent.

Great collection - great value - good extrasReview date: 2008-04-10 Rating: 8 out of 10For ross noble fans this is a real treat, you get a full 3 live shows, a highland fling documentary as well as film of ross in melbourne plus various extras and an interactive quiz, the value for money can't be questioned and the highland fling documentary is particular is very interesting. The reason for a 4 and not 5 star review however is although i believe this to be extremely funny (as everything he does is) i don't think its his very best work, however, it's still greatly entertaining and a must for any fan of the man. Following on from other reviews i personally have had no problems with sound quality on any of the additional discs. Overall a very good collection, 8 out of 10.pardon?!Review date: 2007-11-04 Rating: 6 out of 10Of course its worth buying this set purely for the main feature if your a Ross Noble fan because it is very, very good.
For me though the extra live performances on the others discs are ALL a complete waste of time! the reason being that the sound quality on ALL of them is just pitiful. I have tried altering the settings on my tv and DVD player to no avail. This is a real shame as i thought this pack was superb value for money when i originally got it. It is simply a chore trying to hear what the hell Ross is saying!
The documenatary following Ross round Scotland was pretty interesting stuff though.PURE VALUE FOR MONEYReview date: 2007-09-21 Rating: 10 out of 10I got this for last Christmas and I think (at the time of writing this) it's his funniest DVD yet (I haven't seen Fizzy Logic yet - I've asked for it for Christmas). When Ross announces he has a new DVD coming out you expect a lot of features... And this delivers in buckets.
Four DVDs worth of stand up genius is what you get here. When I first watched the first (and main show) of this Randomist show my sides were aching with laughter, my hightlight jokes were: a sparkly poo competition, Refusing to start the show unless a man at the front claps and starting a gorilla war at the zoo among many others.
On the four DVDs you get:
DISC 1: RANDOMIST TOUR (Filmed in Newcastle City Hall, Encore, Scene Selections, A show Commentary, An intro film and Subtitles.
The Encore is a highlight on its own accord with the audience trying to leave the show because the car park was closing and Ross was getting frustrated because he was half way through telling a joke and people would just get up and leave causing him to stop mid flow.
DISC 2: Ross's Highland Fling - A feature length documentary with on and off stage footage as Ross tours the Scottish Highlands, Another show recorded in Melbourne Town Hall (Australia) and another show Commentary.
DISC 3: Australia Tour - another documentary of Ross both on and off Stage as he tours Australia, another show recorded Live in Stoke, More commentary, an interactive quiz (Answer all the questions correctly to unlock an extra bonus stand up show which is filmed in Birmingham)
DISC 4: The Randomiser which is more live footage from the tour played at random.
So as you can see you get plenty of laughs for your money and plenty of extra material to go through once you have watched the main show.
However there in one downfall and that is on discs 2 to 4 the audio is sometimes all muffledso you have to strain your ears, but that is just on the live shows. The documentaries themselves are clear and well filmed. So buy this and you have well over 5 and a half hours of Noble goodness.
I can't wait to watch Fizzy Logic plus I got to see him live recently at his recent tour (which is well worth catching if you ever get the chance, I want to see him again). What happened?Review date: 2007-07-13 Rating: 4 out of 10I almost hate writing this cos i love this man. Found other stuff so so funny, laughing til it hurt, but this one, dont know, but most of it just didn't hit the mark for me. Guess thats one of the things with most of your stuff being improvised, it all depends what/who (as in audience members) you get to work with.
