Not fun after a very short while

We decided to play the version where you only have to get 2 wedges. The DVD estimated that it would take 20 minutes to play. Wrong - more like double it.
In this version, you have never more than 2 squares away from a wedge space, which is good, because you don't have a die. Instead, you can move 1 space, or spin to a random space.
Questions are for both teams, and the first one to shout out the answer wins control of the board, except for wedge squares, which are only for the relevant team (and is multiple choice). Get it right, and you get the wedge, and then you would probably have to spin, because you are now a minimum of 4 squares away from a wedge square that you have not answered.
Get it wrong, and you are spinned to a random non-wedge square, and the other team gets control of the board. The fact that you are spinned if you get it wrong would probably make the game where you have to collect all 6 wedges a nightmare - one wrong answer would mean that you were probably moved well away from your last wedge that you need.
After getting the relevant number of wedges, you then have to answer 4 of your questions correctly to progress to the centre and win.
So what's wrong with this game? Firstly, it is badly paced - my family were bored half way through. They didn't want a team to win; they wanted the game to end.
Secondly, the maximum number of games where you are virtually guaranteed to fresh questions is only 6.
Thirdly, there is a mistake in the programming. Believe it or not, I have been able to win a game without that team collecting a single wedge, and only answering 2 questions right (after the silver team got to the centre in one go and answered the last question wrong, the gold team were moved up to only needing to answer 2 questions correctly).
However, it is the first and second problems which make this game not fun, and without longevity. It is nicely animated, but that is nothing if our family do not want to see the game again.
