Suprisingly good
Review date: 2008-10-23 Rating: 8 out of 10
This movie was a lot better than I expected. The thriller plot is pretty well written with lots of action. The photography (especially underwater) and HD quality are excellent... the sort of film Blu-Ray was made for. Then there is of course the bonus of a HD Jessica Alba is a tiny bikini most of the movie as well... oh yeah and a few six packs for the ladies :-)

Jessica Alba... NUFF SAIDReview date: 2008-08-31 Rating: 10 out of 10I'll be totally honest with you here guys, kinda pathetic but I bought this as features Jessica Alba who is just flawless IMHO... in HIGH DEFINITION!!! anyway, no other reason than that really but it turned out to be a non brainer kinda actiony flick which is okayish, anyway if you love the Alba... buy buy BUY!!! oh and buy Sin City too!Honestly, not very good at allReview date: 2008-05-27 Rating: 4 out of 10I rented this film on Blu Ray because of some of the glowing reviews this film has had.
Big mistake.
Badly acted, sloppily directed and aimed squarely at a teenage audience. The plot is simplistic and clichéd with no real redeeming features.
I knew something was wrong when within the first five minutes the hero and heroine decided to snog onscreen for a minute. It was nauseating. If a film is trying to show romantic attachment there are better ways of doing it than have the couple involved swapping saliva repeatedly in close up.
Certainly the visuals in the film are excellent. By this I mean the underwater sequences that do look stunning in bluray high definition rather than bad actresses in bikinis.
When the other couple (the hero's friend and his girl) turn up, the overall acting talent manages somehow to get worse.
Put it this way, after half an hour I turned it off out of sheer boredom. The next evening I decided to give it another go, and ended up using the fast forward button towards the end. No exciting action sequences, the bit with the sharks? I was rooting for the sharks.
Really not a very good film, and the reviews I have seen saying this is the best film ever? Are you serious?

Beautifully filmedReview date: 2007-03-17 Rating: 8 out of 10When I watched this film, I was hoping it would be 'The Deep' of the 21st Century, well, it was very enjoyable, and very beautifully filmed, but the story kind of left me wanting! A very good film, not as good as The Deep, but you will enjoy it!
