Will Smith's easy-going charm makes Hitch the kind of pleasant, uplifting romantic comedy that you could recommend to almost anyone--especially if there's romance in the air. As suave Manhattan dating consultant Alex "Hitch" Hitchens, Smith plays up the smoother, sophisticated side of his established screen persona as he mentors a pudgy accountant (Kevin James) on the lessons of love. The joke, of course, is that Hitch's own love life is a mess, and as he coaches James toward romance with a rich, powerful, and seemingly inaccessible beauty named Allegra (Amber Valetta), he's trying too hard to impress a savvy gossip columnist (Eva Mendes) with whom he's fallen in love. Through mistaken identities and mismatched couples, director Andy Tennant brings the same light touch that made Drew Barrymore's Ever After so effortlessly engaging. As romantic comedies go, Hitch doesn't offer any big surprises, but as a date movie it gets the job done with amiable ease and style. --Jeff Shannon
Not what it's cracked up to be

I was pretty disappointed by this disc. The film is brilliant (obviously a chick flick first and foremost but still really enjoyable), but the extra money I spent upgrading to blueray wasn't worth it. We already had the film in standard DVD and shouldn't have wasted our money. The picture is only slightly better and for a film with no special effects the standard disc did just fine.
Wouldn't recommend.

If you're expecting spell binding HD visuals from this Blu-Ray movie - then this isn't the movie to get. But the quality is still pretty decent, and obviously better than DVD quality. As for the movie itself, its an excellent movie - definitely worth a watch!

If you are expecting to watch high definition, don't buy this disc.
All Sony Studios have done is convert the file from DVD to Blue-ray.
The video has not been remastered, nor has the audio.
If you have the DVD version, don't purchase the Blue-ray version.
