I had forgotten how funny this was. Yes, some of the episodes you do think 'why did they write that?'

The only problem I found with this collection is that: a) they never made enough episodes, b) you can not eat whilst watching it (I did and either choked on or spat out food through laughing - mmmmm pretty sight!!) and c) I had to watch all 3 discs one after the other. I was also dissappointed that there were no extras on the discs such as out takes or commentary, I like to watch/listen to those.

I have to say that I love Kathy Burke and Linda is just a treat to watch, wish I had had a flat mate like that.

But I did pay a bargain price so really can't complain. It is something I will watch over and over again.

The first series of Gimme Gimme Gimme was comic genius. With hilarious catty and often degrading one liners that came quick and fast.It was the perfect situation comedy for two of Britains best comedy actors - Kathy Burke and James Dreyfus.
The second series was much more of the same and continued its sharp dialogue and comedy sitautions. The millenium episode which appears on the Series two is perhaps the best and most funny episode in the wholes series. The scene where Tom and Linda play charades is without a doubt one of the funniest scenes to grace the screen.
By the third season all that made the show special was lost and it's dialogue appeared forced and a shadow of its former self. only one of the six episodes stand as being near the quality of the first two seasons that being 'Secrets and Flies' where Linda's long lost son tracks her down.
Several scenes were downright embarrasing and the two episodes 'Down & Out' and 'Lollipop Man' were just awful. Both characters became a parody of themselves from earlier seasons. Linda went from loveable but dilusional rogue to just someone played so thick i'm suprised she could stand up. Its a shame it ended on a downer with the last ever episode being equally as poor and you wish they could have ended it on more of a high.
Jez and Suze Tom and Lindas neighbours eventually become the weak link in the series and can often be downright annoying especially Suze but their older neighbour Beryl who seems to appear less and less as the series goes on is a joy.
The first two seasons are a pure joy - highlights are 'Whos that boy?' , 'Do they take Sugar?' , 'Saturday Night Diva' , 'Teachers Pet' , 'Prison Visitor' and 'Glad to be Gay'. With two mis-matched couples fighting more than they ever get along but deep down need each other this makes for great comic viewing. Just dont get your hopes up for the third season after watching one and two.
