Great Fights, Poor Everything else
Review date: 2008-11-19 Rating: 4 out of 10
I only just saw this for the first time and I watched it with the wife. There was a point not far into the movie when we looked at each other acknowledging that there was something horribly wrong with it especially compared to Ong Bak. Some genuinely amazing fights scenes (that cannot be understated, Jaa rules) float around in a messy void of un-realistic and disjointed characters (what the fudge did the bad guys want anyway??) and there's such a lack of succinct direction it's as if they let those elephants call the shots.

Breathtaking!!Review date: 2008-05-16 Rating: 10 out of 10Wow.I watched this film when i was on holiday in america and was totally blown away on how good this film was.Ok the acting is not great, hey but who cares when you have some of the best fight, action scenes that you will see in a very long time.Honestly they are that gud and there are not many films out today that could rival this, only bruce lee in his day.I think tony jaa is a fresh of breath air in martial arts today as everything he does is all by himself,no wires, cgi etc, which makes it a pleasure to watch. The only downside he cant speak english yet and when he does, his films will become bigger and he will become a hollywood star in the making, just like his hero bruce lee!!!
great action no plotReview date: 2008-04-06 Rating: 6 out of 10This movie is defintly enjoyable for the action, but the plot like all tony jaa movies have no direction. Plus he has no chrisma or action skill to put him on the level of a bruce lee or jackie chan.
In whole a fun movie with no plot what so everOuch, oooof, owwwwwwwww!Review date: 2008-03-12 Rating: 8 out of 10Anybody who enjoyed the magnificent Ong-bak will know exactly what they're getting here.
A paper-thin plot, terrible dialogue (Tony Jaa says little other than "where are my elephants?"), and an ending that very nearly ruins the film, but........
The fight/action scenes, choreography and stunt work are simply amazing. There's one particular scene involving a 4 minute take (complete with a few mistakes and a visibly knackered Tony Jaa) that is jaw dropping. Throughout this film the fighting is so brutal and accurate you get the impression that people are really getting hurt (they probably did!)
Tony Jaa is fast becomming THE martial arts star. If you enjoyed any film starring Jackie Chan or Jet Li then you'll enjoy this.BrilliantReview date: 2008-01-23 Rating: 10 out of 10The actors aren't likely to be nominated for an oscar so you don't expect much from an acting perspective, however I found the plot of the story slightly better than ong-bak and the fight scenes more than make up for the actors!!! equally as stunning as ong-bak with plenty of new stunts to leave you in awe. Brilliant film.
