i love the tv series er so couldn't wait to get the game. expecting a 'sims' like game but finding out once you had completed the goals the game was over. disappointed that you could not go any further than intern status and no free play to allow the game to be worth the price.

A decent atempt at a hospital sim, but this doesn't compare to the legendary Theme Hospital.....Review date: 2007-10-19 Rating: 6 out of 10If you were looking for a theme hospital type game then you will sadly be dissapointed as this doesnt even compare to that game. As you know this game is based on the popular ER series.
You control a doctor that goes through the ranks to become top doctor, and its done with reasonable level of class. However this game is plagued with glitches and other problems that will hinder your progress, this game has crashed several times on me for no apprent reason and this has happened to other people too.
If i were you i would try and find an old copy of theme hospital out as i have discovered its fully compatible with vista and is actually 100% better.Good funReview date: 2007-08-23 Rating: 8 out of 10The game did crash on my friends computer when I first tried it, but on mine it worked fine.
I is a very entertaining game, and although at times it starts to get repetitive, an unexpected event is usually around the corner, such as a local celeb suffering a heart attack, on your second day.Initially enjoyable then very disappointing.Review date: 2007-02-27 Rating: 2 out of 10Dear oh dear.
I bought this game second hand from a shop for £6. "What a bargain". I thought. It was only when I had got to the second level that it started crashing and I now realise why it had been given away and have since discovered from other links that many people have had similar problems. I basically get a "Start-up failed" message appearing on the screen and losing any further progress. It happens at the same point each time, suggesting to me a bug in the original programming.
I tried to fix things by downloading two ER patches, but this did not help at all.
Though I imagine some may have no problems, I am playing this game on a Sony PC bought in late 2006 with Windows XP, which should be able to handle it with no difficulty (indeed, the graphics seemed to work absolutely fine until it started crashing all the time).
My advice is simple - don't pay full price for this game, instead try to get it cheaper elsewhere. I suspect you have to take a gamble and see if it works on your system, but for that, I wouldn't buy it at the current price. Until it crashed I was enjoying it, but that made it all the more bitter when I reached the point of no further progress.Enjoyable way to spend a few hoursReview date: 2007-02-09 Rating: 8 out of 10I had no problems with this game - it ran fine and there were no technical hitches at all. It is a fun, relatively easy game that most people and not just fans of the show will enjoy. It is similar to "The Sims" in that you control who your character speaks too and you have to make friends and can even fall in love. There are lots of challenges but I was disapppointed that there was no "free-play" option where you could just wander round without having to complete challenges.
